Biomass Fair held in Windhoek, Namibia

A brief talk by Mr Huw Parry, Founder of Steambio, on the SteamBio Africa project and its aims at the recently held Standard Bank Biomass Fair in Windhoek, Namibia last month.

The annual Biomass Fair brings together key industry actors and representatives to discuss new developments and issues pertaining to the biomass sphere. The two-day event was held under the theme "Discovering a New Decade for Biomass" and comprised of a Research Symposium and a Biomass Industry Conference, both physical and hybrid formats with interactive panel discussions following each session.


In attendance was the Minister of Environment and Tourism, Honurable Pohamba Shifeta as well as representatives of the Namibia Biomass Industry Group (N-BiG), the Namibia Charcoal Association (NCA), and the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST).


The event is organised in collaboration with the World Bioenergy Association, Bundesverband Bioenergie e.V. (BBE) and Bush Control and Biomass Utilisation Project implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
